Lincoln Primark store damaged after waste fire

Firefighters tackled a waste fire near the back of the Primark unit on Water Lane in central Lincoln.

The fire started some time after 5pm and thick black smoke engulfed the area.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue extinguished the fire using hose reels.

Some 50% of the commercial unit has been damaged by smoke.

Staff at the Primark store are all reportedly unharmed.

Jason Palethorpe commented after he spoke to a member of staff at the Primark store. He said: “They’ve all been evacuated and counted for. They’re still there until given all clear from the fire service to return inside in to collect their belongings.”
