A remarkably intricate city of Lego is ready to welcome its first visitors in Scunthorpe, bringing some of the world’s most iconic locations under one roof.

The exhibition titled Brick City at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre will be running from Saturday, May 13 until June 17, 2017 between 10am and 4pm.

Suitable for all ages, the new temporary attraction offers the chance to explore the world, through Lego.

The mastermind behind the Brick City exhibition is Artist Warren Elsmore.

Along with his team, they have recreated some of the most iconic buildings and sights such as the streets of Rio de Janeiro, New York, Copenhagen, Venice, medieval Japan and even glitzy Las Vegas.

Some 60 models from across five continents will be featured in the exhibition.

Some of the smallest models include less than 100 bricks.

London St Pancras Station is the biggest Lego creation, made up from 180,000 pieces and measuring two by four metres.

Councillor Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for Health and Wellbeing at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We all have fond memories of playing with Lego so I’m sure Brick City will entice a wide audience – both the young and the young at heart!

“The models in the exhibition are so well-thought out and intricate that you’ll be amazed by what Warren and his team have managed to create with just Lego.”

To celebrate Brick City’s opening on Saturday, May 13, 20-21 will be holding a family fun day.

The day includes free craft activities for the whole family and getting hands on with Lego. The exhibition will be open between 10am and 4pm.
