Thousands of people lined the streets of the city for the 2017 Lincoln Grand Prix, one of the biggest events in the cycling calendar.

The race on Sunday, May 14 marked the final event in the Lincoln Festival of Cycling and saw some of the biggest names in the sport take on gruelling routes through the city and the wolds.

After two nail-biting finishes, Ian Bibby was crowned the winner of the 103 mile men’s race and Alice Barnes took victory in the 63 mile women’s.

With hotel accommodation in the city said to be at 90% occupancy across the weekend, the event attracted thousands from far and wide. Many of whom chose to cheer on the cyclists from the historic Cathedral Quarter.
