A woman, who was dubbed the ‘cookie lady’ has avoided jailed after feeding children homemade biscuits filled with cannabis.

Lesley Collins, 61, of Bentley Street, Cleethorpes, admitted supplying cannabis in October last year.

Grimsby Crown Court heard on May 9 that Collins offered the ‘space cakes’ to four children aged 12 and 13.

Three of the children were taken to hospital after eating the cookies given to them by Collins on Freeman Street in Grimsby on October 8, 2016.

The children were later discharged having been given a clean bill of health.

Collins was given a six-month suspended prison sentence and 10 days’ rehabilitation at Grimsby Crown Court.
