A new centre for counselling has opened in Lincoln, providing support for children, young people, adults and families across the county.

Within a few weeks of opening, NW Counselling Hub is already supporting 25 children, young people and adults.

The hub will also deliver essential support for trainee counsellors and qualified counsellors through training, CPD, networking, supervision, an open-door policy and a support line.

Established as a Community Interest Company by Naomi Watkins and Alex Parkin, the co-founders have experience and knowledge from a background in counselling, health and social care, psychology and domestic abuse.

Naomi is one of the UK’s leading domestic abuse consultants with over 10 years’ experience working with national organisations and agencies, including the NSPCC and Childline.

Naomi Watkins said: “Alongside our team of qualified counsellors, we want to give back to the Lincolnshire community; this will be done by providing a wide range of services alongside counselling, whilst also providing free support to selected community groups.”

A mum of two, who has recently been supported by NW Counselling Hub, said: “I have visited with my children today for their third session, and wow!

“I am so very impressed by the quality of the counsellors and the way the building is set out. I know that my kids will look back on this and see it as invaluable.”
