When overtaking a vehicle, the number one rule is to make sure it is clear in the opposite direction, however one van driver ignored this, putting lives at risk.

Dashcam footage posted by Idiot Drivers in Lincolnshire and the UK shows the van overtaking a lorry on the A16 Crowland.

Take a look at the footage:

The van driver is seen driving at some speed to overtake the lorry, causing the oncoming vehicle to move aside to let them pass safely.

Visitors to the group’s Facebook page were shocked by the footage.

Alan Goddard said: “[I] hope someone can the read number plate.

“Lives were at risk, [they] don’t deserve a licence.”

Neal Waby added: “That van was on the other side fully.

“How the driver had room to do anything is crazy. That could of been fatal for everyone.”
