Councillors approve plans for 280 homes to be built in Lincolnshire town

Outline plans have been approved.

Outline plans for 280 new homes to be built in Louth have been given the green light by councillors.

Following a planning committee meeting at East Lindsey District Council on Thursday, August 3, councillors approved plans which will see 280 homes built on land off Legbourne Road.

A mix of housing will be built on 8.86 hectares of land, with up to 30% of the housing being affordable.

Some 32 homes will be built on every hectare of land on the site.

The site will also include drainage works, landscaping, formal and informal open spaces and car parking.

This comes after the site was previously considered in 2013/14 for residential development as part of a much larger plans for up to 970 homes in the area.

However, this application was refused and dismissed at appeal due to the scale of the development and impact on the landscape.
