A Lincoln shop owner was attacked by a robber with a knife when he tried to stop him from leaving with money from the till.

The armed robbery took place at the Premier shop on Newark Road in Lincoln at around 5.15pm on Thursday, August 3.

A man entered the premises and demanded money from the till.

Police said the shop owner attempted to stop him from leaving and was assaulted with a knife, sustaining a minor injury to his hand.

The suspect, who got away with a quantity of money, is believed to be approximately five foot seven inches, wearing dark coloured jeans and a dark hoody.

Lincolnshire Police are carrying out extra patrols in the area and are advising that any witnesses should call 101 quoting incident number 389 of August 3.
