Hawthorn Road from Lincoln to Cherry Willingham will be closed later this month for resurfacing.
Failing areas of the carriageway will be repaired ahead of a future surface dressing, with the works taking place from Friday, August 21 to Tuesday, August 25.
The roadworks will be carried out under a road closure with traffic diverted via Bunkers Hill, Wragby Road East and Kennel Lane.
Gatemen will be on hand to assist during the working day.
Mark Heaton, programme leader – surfacing and patching, said: “We need to get this work done to ensure the road remains safe.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and would encourage motorists to allow additional time for their journeys or find an alternative route.”
