The crash happened between Foston and Long Bennington, with the road closed in both directions from the junctions with the A52 and A46.

Drivers were stuck in traffic for hours, with long delays reported on the approach to the road closure in both directions.

Work had to be done to repair the barrier as well as clear the road.

The road was reopened in full at around midnight.

Traffic appears to be coping well in both directions this morning, with no reported crashes or delays.
