Train disruption after lorry crashes into a bridge near Ancaster

Road and rail disruption.

A lorry has crashed into a bridge near Ancaster causing disruption to train services.

The incident happened on the B6403 between Boston and Grantham and a bridge examiner is now on site to assess the damage.

The line was closed temporarily but has now reopened at Ancaster, however East Midlands Trains has announced there may be some delays and late-notice cancellations until around 6pm.

A rail replacement bus will run from Skegness to Grantham at 4.40pm and the rail ticket can also be used on Stagecoach buses 56 and 57.
