Homes will ‘secure environment for future residents’

New homes planned for Crowland

Plans have gone in to build 47 homes in Crowland, which developers say will provide a ‘secure environment for future residents’.

The application to South Holland District Council will look to create the new development on 4.32 acres of agricultural land off Crease Drove.

NKW Design, on behalf of applicant Ashwood Homes, say they want to ‘create an attractive, sustainable development and community that enhances this area of Crowland’ and ‘provide a residential development of the highest quality’.

They say particular attention has been given to the mix of house types, the private parking standards, surveillance of public aspects and areas of public space, with accessibility and environmental improvements also considered.

The statement concludes: “The proposed scheme has responded positively to the proposals for this area of Crowland. This has been achieved by following the above principles.

“The end result is an attractive scheme providing a secure environment for future residents.”

The houses will be entirely two-storey with 15 two-bed houses, 27 three-bed houses and five four-bed houses.

The planners say the appearance will take influence from local and rural details with a ‘strong theme created throughout the development’.

The plans feature two public open spaces at the entrance to the site with a single road running through.

A variety of car storage solutions are proposed and the statement says the houses will be positioned to form a defined perimeter.
