Lincoln Carluccio’s safe from the chop

Neighbouring Nottingham restaurants will close

Carluccio’s, the popular Italian all-day dining restaurant and deli, has announced it will close up to 30 restaurants across the country – but thankfully the Lincoln branch will stay.

The popular restaurant, which has 103 sites including in Lincoln, Nottingham and Sheffield, has entered a CVA (Company Voluntary Arrangement) which has been supported by a majority of its creditors.

Carluccio’s will now restructure the group by closing up to 30 sites to help save the remaining restaurants. These closures would see some 500 jobs at risk across the UK.

The company has also received new funding which will drive a comprehensive programme of restaurant refurbishments.

Business as usual for Lincoln

A spokesperson for Carluccio’s said: “We can confirm that Carluccio’s in Lincoln is entirely unaffected by our proposal to enter a CVA (Company Voluntary Arrangement), supported by a substantial majority of our creditors.

“It’s very much business as usual and we continue to welcome customers to our restaurants, delivering Carluccio’s signature all-day, Italian dining experience.”

Despite the Lincoln restaurant remaining open, one of the two Nottingham restaurants will close under the plans.

The spokesperson added: “It is confirmed that our Nottingham restaurant will close. Our Carluccio’s restaurant in West Bridgford is unaffected by the current restructuring process and will remain open.

“We look forward to continuing to welcome the people of Nottinghamshire to our restaurants, delivering Carluccio’s signature all-day, Italian dining experience.”
