Lincoln Dragon Boat Race raises £6,000

Belton Construction won the race

Hundreds of people gathered at the city’s Brayford Wharf to watch the third annual Lincoln Dragon Boat Race over the weekend.

Belton Construction won the race which took place on Saturday, July 21 and involved 15 teams.

It is hoped the event raised over £6,000 for three charities – LIVES, St Barnabas Hospice and the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance – although the exact figure is still being confirmed.

A spokesperson for event organisers, local solicitors Ringrose Law, said: “We couldn’t have asked for a better day, the sun was shining, the crowds were out in force cheering, the teams were all in high spirits and most importantly a lot of money was raised for charity.

“A great event for the Ccty and a great event for Ringrose Law to organise. Looking forward to 2019!”
