Scunthorpe pub gets ‘zero’ hygiene rating

Urgent improvement is required in some areas

A Scunthorpe pub has failed a recent food hygiene inspection after being awarded a ‘zero’ score rating.

The Cocked Hat Hotel on Ferry Road in Scunthorpe was visited by council inspectors on May 22 2018.

It was deemed that urgent improvement was necessary in terms of ‘cleanliness and condition of facilities and building’ and ‘management of food safety’.

Inspectors also decided that major improvement was necessary in ‘hygenic food handling’.

Lincolnshire Reporter approached The Cocked Hotel asking for a call back from the manager/owner to address the recent rating, but there was no reply by the time of publishing.
