Cheers! Popular ale trail relaunched

Quirky taverns and themed bars are now on the trail

A highly popular ale trail has been refreshed, with the addition of quirky taverns and themed bars.

The Lincoln Ale Trail is designed to be a fun and sociable way for locals and visitors alike to discover the city’s different watering holes.

A new guide for the trail features 30 different venues, which all boast their own unique experience and choices of drinks.

Punters can also use the trail guide to rate each venue as they go along, and create a useful reminder of the ones worth revisiting.

The new brochure can be ordered online.

The latest additions to the trail include The Cosy Club, based in the Cornhill Quarter and BeerHeadZ, based in Eastgate.

Bar manager at BeerHeadZ, Tim Dunn, said: “I think the Lincoln Ale Trail is a great idea. The refreshed leaflet gives people a good idea of what pubs and bars there are around the city.

“We are a new bar which concentrates on real ales and craft-style beers. We have ten craft beers and also up to six real ales, and we have a changing beer menu.”

If you want to take on the trail, there is a brochure available from the Visitor Information Centre in the Castle Hill area.

It can also be ordered from the Visit Lincoln website, which will be delivered by post to your door.
