Wind warning issued for Lincoln

You may wish to tie down any garden furniture.

Lincoln may have escaped the clutched of Storm Ali for now, but the Met Office has placed the entire county under yellow alert for strong winds in days to come.

A weather warning for potentially very strong winds is in place between 6pm on Thursday, September 20 and 9am on Friday, September 21.

A yellow alert for wind has been issued for much of the UK.

Current predictions say Lincoln will get rain for most of the day tomorrow with wind speeds around 23 mph overnight. There will however be gusts of up to 43 mph.

The current weather forecast for Lincoln: Met Office

Met Office forecasters said: “There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs or through falling trees and branches.

“This could also bring the chance of injuries and danger to life.

“There is a small chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected.”

They added: “There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential at affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.”
