Woman dies in suspected drug driving crash

A woman has died following the crash

The passenger of a car driven by a suspected drug driver has died after the vehicle crashed in a Lincoln village.

Police officers were called to the collision involving a small blue transit van in Fen Lane, Metheringham just before 11pm on Wednesday, September 4.

A 47-year-old woman who was in the passenger seat was taken to hospital by paramedics but did not survive her injuries.

The driver, a 33-year-old man, was arrested after failing a drugs test and remains in custody.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “Anyone who witnessed the driving of a blue transit van prior to this incident is urged to call officers quoting incident 502 of September 4.

“A road closure remains in place.”
