Man dies after paraglider crashes into tree

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene

A 57-year-old man has died after his motorised paraglider crashed into a tree in a field near Bishop Norton last weekend.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at about 1.40pm after the collision in a field opposite Sandhayes Lane north of Lincoln on Sunday, October 7, but the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “A 57-year-old man was fatally injured in a collision with a tree while in a motorised paraglider. This happened in a field opposite Sandhayes Lane and was reported at 1.41pm on the 7th.

“It is not being treated as suspicious. Police and paramedics attended the scene but sadly he didn’t survive his injuries. The incident comes under the remit of the Civil Aviation Authority.”
