Branston road closed due to crash

Update: Police confirmed shortly before 2.40pm that the road has re-opened.


The B1188 Lincoln Road, Branston is closed due to a four car crash.

It happened at around 1pm on November 28 near Beech Road and two patients were taken to Lincoln County Hospital.

The accident is reported to be not too far from Branston Hall, according to AA Traffic.

The road is closed and emergency services attending, including an air ambulance.

Eyewitness reports indicate an elderly lady is being airlifted to hospital, while another driver is being rescued from the car by firefighters.

There is also a fuel spill emergency services are awaiting to clear.

Police said the crash involved four vehicles and there were no serious injuries.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue said crews from both Lincoln North and South attended the incident.

The spokesperson said: “Two persons were trapped in one of the vehicles and one female occupant was self-released on arrival. Ambulance crew was also in attendance.”

A spokesperson for EMAS added: “We received a call at 1pm on November 28 to Lincoln Road in Branston. The caller reported that there had been a road traffic collision involving two cars.

“We sent two paramedics in ambulance cars and two crewed ambulances to the scene. Two patients were taken to Lincoln County Hospital.”
