Lincolnshire filmmaker in critical condition after balcony fall

He is in an induced coma

A filmmaker from North Lincolnshire is in a critical condition in hospital after an accident in Spain.

His sister is fundraising to get the family out to him.

Carl Whiteley, who is originally from Crowle, reportedly suffered severe head injuries after falling from a first floor balcony of a flat in Palma’s old town on Tuesday night.

It is believed he was admitted to Majorca’s Son Espases Hospital and is in an induced coma.

Carl’s sister Emma set up a GoFundMe page which has raised £570 of its £10,000 target at the time of writing.

On the fundraising page Emma said: “My brother is in Spain, we are in England… we need help to get all of our family over to our brother CARL WHITELEY! He’s had a terrible accident and is in critical condition.

“The hospital have him in a induced coma! Our brother is amazing and I know he’s helped a lot of people and a lot of charities… any donations are greatly received.

“Any money left after we have him Alsace and all his family with him we will donate to a brain trauma charity to help people in desperate need like we are.”
