Low hygiene rating score for Lincoln pizza takeaway

Major improvement is necessary

A pizza takeaway in Lincoln was given a low food hygiene score of 1/5 after a recent inspection.

City of Lincoln Council inspectors visited Pepi’s on Newark Road in Lincoln on February 13.

The results published today indicate that there is major improvement necessary at the takeaway.

Improvement is necessary in the ‘hygienic food handling’ and ‘cleanliness and condition of facilities and building’.

The area where the takeaway scored worst is in the ‘management of food safety’ where major improvement is required.

The takeaway currently has a score of 3.9 stars on Google reviews with mainly good comments, although some complained about how long their food took to arrive.

Later update:

The owner of the takeaway Mr Alghoul claims when the council came out he was told improvements including about the gas certificate and the toilet were needed.

He claims the council revisited on Wednesday (March 20) and he was told everything was now fine and he needed to make an application for them to come back at a cost of £150, which he said he is doing.
