Boy, 13, arrested for carrying knife into school

Officers praised the quick thinking of staff

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by police on suspicion of carrying a knife into school.

Teachers at University Academy Holbeach (UAH) reported the pupil to police on Tuesday, June 4.

Luckily nobody was injured in the incident and officers praised the quick thinking of staff at the school.

Inspector Gareth Boxall said: “We arrested a 13-year-old old boy on suspicion of possessing a bladed article.

“I’m grateful to staff at the school whose quick actions resolved the incident quickly and without harm to anyone.

“We will continue to support the UAH and all local schools to ensure young people are educated to the dangers of carrying knives and other weapons.”
