Readers vote: Top 10 fish & chip shops in Lincoln

You ranked your favourites

More than 200 Lincolnite readers took part in a poll to find out the city’s most loved fish and chip businesses.

Followers of The Lincolnite’s Facebook page were asked to tell reporters their favourite chip shop in the city and surrounding villages.

Some 207 comments were counted alongside ‘likes’ and ‘loves’ to determine the 10 most popular places. Duplicate ‘likes’ were not included.

It was an extremely close call between the top three restaurants, with only one or two votes in it at the time of counting.

The top 10 fish and chip shops in Lincoln and surrounding villages, as voted by Lincolnite readers, were:


Elite Fish and Chips

Elite is a 40-year-old business and has restaurants and takeaways in Lincoln, Sleaford and Ruskington.


The Fish King

This chippy came in very close second with only a few votes from Elite.

Upton Chippy

This one is a bit of a drive away from Lincoln, but it was a clear favourite with our readers. With its ‘secret recipe’ batter and traditional coal fired cooker it’s truly unique and deserved a spot.
