The driver of an uninsured car fled the scene after a three-vehicle crash in Washingborough on Thursday night.
The crash involving a blue Peugeot 206, a Vauxhall Astra and a BMW car happened on Lincoln Road in Washingborough at 9.14pm on Thursday, August 15. The road was closed for some time before being re-opened at around 11.20pm.
The driver of the Peugeot left the scene before police arrived. Police are appealing for information to trace him and said that no arrests have yet been made.
The passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “Police had pursued the Peugeot after it had shown as being uninsured.
“The passenger in the Peugeot was taken to Lincoln County Hospital with minor injuries. The driver left the scene before police arrived.”
An eyewitnesses at the scene, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed to The Lincolnite that the driver was driving “dangerous and very fast”.
He said: “He overtook me and another five cars in front of me. Police were following him and where he was going under the bridge he must have lost control and driven off the road.”
