Festival of the Dead stopping off in Lincoln later this year

Get ready for infusing carnival, circus, theatre and clubbing when the Festival of the Dead arrives in Lincoln later this year.

The festival, which grew from a single Halloween party at The Troxy in London, will land in twelve cities around the UK as well as in Amsterdam.

It will be at Lincoln’s Engine Shed on Friday, November 8 (10pm-3am) as part of its fourth year on tour.

New for 2019 the festival is ‘The Dark Carnival’, featuring a whole new cast of characters and other worldly creations, acrobats, circus performers, carnival processions through the crowd and more set to a high octane soundtrack.

The festival, which has previously sold over 85,000 tickets, is inspired by the art of the Day of the Dead celebration had a sellout tour across the UK in 2018, with brand new mind-blowing production expected this year.

It includes the UK’s largest touring skeleton prop – the huge mechanical skull known as ‘El Diablo’ and the nation’s only giant spider on stilts.

There will also be live music and DJs spinning killer tunes and professional face painters.

Nathan Reed, Festival of the Dead organiser, said: “Every year we push the boundaries of a live show and we can’t wait to see the crowd reactions when they meet the new creatures we’ve built to join them at ‘The Dark Carnival’.
