Popular patisserie gets one out of five hygiene rating

Food hygiene inspectors have now told the management to make some major improvements to claw back a better rating

A popular patisserie on Castle Hill in Lincoln has been given a one out of five food hygiene rating.

One Castle Hill is famed for its breakfast and lunch options with a great setting in the historic castle square area and views of Lincoln Castle and Cathedral, where it has been since 2011.

Food hygiene inspectors have now told the management to make some major improvements to claw back a better rating.

The patisserie’s one out of five rating is broken down into three areas:

  • Hygienic food handling – Improvement necessary
  • Cleanliness and condition of the building – Improvement necessary
  • Management of food safety – Major improvement necessary

The Lincolnite reached out to One Castle Hill but the management has so far declined to comment about the rating.

One Castle Hill had a five out of five hygiene rating back in 2017 and it currently has a three out of five rating on TripAdvisor.
