Councils have so far given out more than £33 million in business grant funding to help support the local economy against the impact of the coronavirus lockdown.
Authorities across Greater Lincolnshire have been given £265,872,000 by government to support local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the latest data released by authorities and their leaders, more than £33,340,000 has already been handed out.
Thousands of businesses have applied for the grant funding with small businesses under the greatest threat.
Many have already been forced to shut their doors due to being considered non-essential, while others have had to adapt to the situation.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, government announced a swathe of new measures including loans, small business grants and grants covering the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors.
Here’s how much businesses have been given according to councils’ latest announcements:
North East Lincolnshire – More than £3 million has been paid to 287 businesses. The council was given £35,510,000 by government.
North Lincolnshire – £1.5 million distributed, expected to rise to £6 million today. 2,000 business enquired about funding. The authority was given £37,242,000 by government.
East Lindsey District Council – Has contacted 5,000 businesses and 2,000 have completed the appropriate forms. Money is due to be released later today (Friday, April 3). The council was given £62,172,000 by government.
South Kesteven District Council –£10,755,000 has been distributed to 921 businesses. The authority was given £31,698,000 by government.
North Kesteven Distrct Council-£3,275,000has been paid to 305 businesses. The authority said it was expecting 202 more to be completed by the end of Friday. It has been given £22,310,000 by government.
City of Lincoln – £9.35 million awarded to 774 businesses. The authority was given £22,188,000 by government.
West Lindsey District Council – More than £3million has been given to 158 businesses. It was given £18,664,000 by government.
South Holland District Council – More than £2.46 million has been given to around 231 businesses so far. The authority said more businesses would be notified in the coming days. The council was given £19,448,000 by government
Boston Borough Council – Had not responded by the time of publication. The authority was given £16,640,000 by government
