Nuclear reactor panel sells for £10k at Lincolnshire auction

The control panel gained a lot of worldwide attention

A control panel from a nuclear reactor plant has gone under the hammer for more than £10,000 at a Lincolnshire auction house.

Auctioneers Ramco, based in Skegness, said the panel was from a recently decommissioned UK nuclear power plant, but would not reveal any more exact details.

The panel is around 15m (50ft) long and generated plenty of interest from the general public with the online auction ending on Tuesday, June 2.

The auction house confirmed the nuclear reactor panel sold for just over £10,000 after interest from around the world.

Sadly the identity of winning bidder was not disclosed, but one online follower commented: “This would be great for any one who has seen Homer Simpson at work but the shipping costs would be huge!”
