Imps sign former Colchester goalkeeper

He is the Imps’ third summer signing

Lincoln City have announced the signing of former Colchester goalkeeper Ethan Ross on a one-year deal.

The 23-year-old began his youth career progressing through the ranks at Arsenal and Cambridge United before joining West Brom.

He also gained valuable experience out on loan at non-league clubs Worcester City and Redditch United.

He joined Colchester United in 2018 and made his professional debut in a 1-1 draw against Yeovil.

Ethan played in a match for Colchester against Lincoln during the 2018/19 season when the Imps were crowned champions. On that day he kept a clean sheet and helped his side to a 3-0 win at Sincil Bank.

He becomes the Imps’s third summer signing after James Jones and Lewis Montsma.

Ethan said: “I’m over the moon, once I found out there was interest from Lincoln, I was really excited to see what that beheld.

“I felt like a fresh start was something I needed and jumped at the opportunity straight away. It’s a step up in the league and a new challenge which is something I really wanted.”

He added: “When you hear just under 10,000 Imps going mad it makes you feel ten foot tall. I can’t wait to get out there in red and white colours soon.”

Meanwhile, it was confirmed on Friday that the English Football League will restart on September 12, meaning Lincoln City have just over six weeks to prepare for their second season in League One.
