Lincoln City launch new 2020/21 home kit

It was inspired by the famous 1995/96 season shirt

Lincoln City has launched a brand new home kit for the 2020/21 season in collaboration with kit manufacturer Errea and Elite Pro Sports.

The new look signature red and white home shirt was inspired by the famous 1995/96 season shirt and the club said it pays tribute to “our famous city”. Lincoln Cathedral is included inside the shirt below the back collar.

It can now be purchased via the club’s online store, along with the newly released goalkeeper kit.

Recent signing James Jones was the first player to try on the new kit, saying: “It’s a really impressive kit and I’m privileged to be the first one to try it on. I’m really looking forward to wearing it on a match day in front of our fans.

“The Cathedral on the back of the shirt is a really impressive detail and it’s something I’m sure the fans will love.”

Liam Scully, the club’s chief executive, said: “We wanted to create a shirt that has both a modern and a retro feel to it. Hopefully, this will be a real hit with our fans and I’d like to thank our Supporters Board for their help during the design process.

“It’s also quite fitting that Michael Appleton wore this kit during his loan spell with us in the mid-90s.”

The home shirt will feature a new sponsor after the club formed a partnership with South Africa’s premier wealth and alternative investment specialists Peregrine Holdings.

Lincoln City director Sean Melnick is a founder and chairman of Peregrine. Imps’ chairman Clive Nates is a non-executive director of subsidiary Peregrine Capital.
