COVID-positive pub managers shut amid Newark outbreak

It will close for at least 10 days

The managers of a pub in Newark have temporarily closed after testing positive for coronavirus, amid a recent outbreak in the Lincolnshire border town.

Nigel and Fiona Ducker said the pub will close for at least 10 days.

Chesters, which is located at 2 Main Street in Balderton, Newark, added that the NHS Track and Trace service will be in contact with all the relevant customers.

Chesters posted an announcement about the temporary closure on its Facebook page.

Meanwhile, health bosses estimate that a third of workers at a Newark factory coronavirus outbreak actually live in Lincolnshire.

Bakkavor confirmed an outbreak last week at its dessert factory in the town, and said it was testing all 1,600 employees as well as agency staff.

However, Lincolnshire health bosses had said they were not seeing any concerning patterns in the spread of coronavirus cases in the county, despite the Newark outbreak.
