Bomb squad called to ‘suspicious device’ in Spilsby

Update 1pm: We can now confirm that the Explosive Ordnance Team (EOD) has removed the device, which is not believed to be explosive.

The cordon has been lifted and the roads are now reopened.  We would like to thank everyone for their patience.

A cordon is currently in place on Boston Road, Spilsby following reports of a suspicious device.

Boston Road, Church Lane, Nelson Way and Old Market Avenue are currently closed and the Explosive Ordnance Unit (EOD) will be in attendance.

Please avoid the area if you can and we’ll provide an update as soon as we have one.
