Councillors expect RAF Scampton asylum seekers to arrive as early as next week

Local councillors are expecting the first wave of up to 50 asylum seekers to arrive at RAF Scampton as early as next week.

Council officials were told that, contrary to a standing Stop Order at the former air base, the Home Office is planning to relocate migrants starting Monday, October 9 — but the government has not confirmed that.
