Lincolnshire rugby player out of coma thanks those who helped save his life

Heroic efforts saved Eddie Green after he had a heart attack on the pitch

An experienced rugby player who recently collapsed and suffered a heart attack on the pitch has thanked everyone who helped save his life as he came out of an induced coma and began his road to recovery.

Eddie Green, 55 (pictured above, left, with his coach and friend Chris Janney), played his first senior game of rugby for Market Rasen & Louth RUFC when he was just 16. He travelled from his home in Selby in Yorkshire to feature in a festive friendly against Gainsborough’s 2nd XV on December 30, 2023.
