Parents choose midwife of the year

Super midwife: Lincoln parents voted this year’s top midwife in the city, at an event at the County Hospital’s maternity ward.

Parents from across Lincoln voted for Heather Ellis (pictured holding baby Archie Oliver-Dallas) to win the Midwife of the Year awards.

The Lincoln branch of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) presented its Midwife of the Year awards in the maternity wing of Lincoln County Hospital on November 12.

NCT’s Lincoln branch runs the annual awards, where mothers and fathers from greater Lincoln vote to identify the city’s most dedicated midwife.

This year’s winner is Heather Ellis, who used to work in the Monks Road area, but is now based in North Hykeham.

The runner-up was Priscilla Wozniak from Bardney Labour Ward the special awards for sustained excellence went to community midwife Luretta Johnson.

The event was sponsored by The Old Station Nursery, which has five Lincoln settings.
