New anaesthetist joins Lincoln hospital

New doctor: A new consultant has joined Lincoln County Hospital recently.

A new consultant has just joined Lincoln County Hospital’s anaesthetist team.

Dr Thahira Rashid specialises in anaesthetics in maxillofacial, gynaecological and colorectal surgery.

As well as anaesthetics, she is hoping to be involved in improving the quality of care in the hospital, and how information is used (clinical governance) in her department.

Dr Rashid said: “I’m really looking forward to getting more involved in initiatives taking place within the hospital.

“I have an interest in training and would like to share my knowledge and experience with other members of the Trust.”

Before moving to the UK in 2000, Rashid did her postgraduate training in anaesthesia at Trivandrum Medical College Hospital, India. She was also a lecturer.

After moving to the UK, she undertook specialist training in London, including work in Great Ormond Street Hospital, then a year of advanced training in Obstetrics Anaesthesia before joining United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
