Lincoln City visit poorly children for Christmas

Special gift: Lincoln Imps made a visit to children currently residing on hospital wards.

Young patients at Lincoln County Hospital received a special Christmas surprise when Lincoln City Football Club players visited the wards.

As well as stopping to meet the children on the Rainforest and Safari wards on December 15, the team handed out Christmas goody bags.

The club’s manager David Holdsworth said: “We are delighted to be able to visit the children’s wards and bring the gifts.

“It means a lot to the players and we would like to wish the children and their families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

Carol Blakeborough, Play Specialist at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, added: “The children were so excited to meet the footballers and spend some time with them.

“We would like to thank them so much for all the gifts they bought.”
