Man dies after car park collision

Fatal collision: Police are beginning to investigate an incident in a city car park resulting in a death.

A Lincoln man has died from his injuries following a collision in a city car park.

The man, who was named by police as 18-year-old Martin Roy Bunn, was involved in the fatal collision on December 26 at around 10pm.

Martin Bunn had been riding a small 50cc trike in the car park near Lincs FM radio station, when the trike collided with a bollard or post.

He fell from the vehicle and sustained fatal head injuries. He was certified as deceased at Lincoln County Hospital.

An inquest into his death will be shortly launched. At present police are trying to find out if the car park classes as a public place or highway, but will deal with the investigation for now assuming the latter.

P.C. 591 Lee Wright of the Lincoln Roads Policing Unit is investigating the incident.
