Police warning over Lincoln sneak-in burglaries

Sneak-in burglaries: Police plea for vigilance after two Lincoln houses burgled while owners were at home.

Lincoln residents are being urged to be vigilant after two sneak-in burglaries in the city.

A handbag was stolen from the kitchen of a house in Hartsholme Drive between 5.30pm and 6pm on January 5, after an offender got in through an unlocked back door.

A similar offence took place on the same day between 6.30pm and 7pm in Sixfield Close.

An offender got in through an unlocked front door and stole a mobile phone and a set of car keys. On both occasions, the occupants were in the house when the offence took place.

Police ask residents to be vigilant and to lock their doors in the evening. They are also asking residents to report any suspicious activity on their roads as soon as possible.

You can call Lincolnshire Police with information on 101, or call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
