Tickets for castle Olympic breakfast on sale

Second chance: Tickets are available for a morning Olympic celebration at Lincoln Castle.

Residents who missed out on tickets to Lincoln’s Olympic Torch party at Yarborough have another chance to celebrate.

Lincoln Castle will be hosting the Olympic Torch during its route around the UK on June 28.

The historic building will hold a special breakfast and activities for pupils from certain schools before the torch leaves Lincoln.

There is also space for 3,000 residents to join in the fun and free tickets can be booked from the County Council.

Councillor Peter Robinson said: “We’re very excited about the torch coming to Lincoln. And where better to celebrate this historic occasion than at one of the city’s most iconic landmarks?

“There will be lots going on in the castle grounds before and after the torch makes its appearance.

“Make sure you don’t miss out on what’s sure to be a special morning.”

The event runs from 6.30am until 9.30am, with the torch heading to the castle at 8am.

Tickets can be booked from customer service on 01522 782239 or online.

Neon wristbands will be given to ticket holders to allow the free entry into the castle grounds.

You can see the full relay route on the London 2012 website.
