Biblical plays: A open air production of three interesting Christian themes is currently underway in Lincoln.

Lincoln Mystery Plays have made their way back to Lincoln and have provided audiences with an interesting take on biblical stories.

The nine performances are only staged every four years at the Medieval Bishop’s Palace and Cathedral Cloister.

The production runs from July 10-21 this year, and give ancient scripts (Creation, Crucifixion and Doomsday) a contemporary edge, including clever sound and lighting, imagery and plenty of fire.

The audience will be able to see the increased vulnerability for Christ at the Crucifixion, a clearer battle of wills between good and evil, more community inclusion and closer actor-audience relationships.

Here are a few pictures from the performances so far. Visit the event page for ticket information.
