Lincoln Premier Inn hotel set for June opening after delays

Work resumes: Construction and decoration work has resumed at the Premier Inn hotel on Broadgate in Lincoln, with an opening date set for June.

Construction and decoration work has resumed at the Premier Inn hotel on Broadgate in Lincoln, with an opening date set for June, owners Whitbread Plc have confirmed.

The £6.5 million 130-bedroom hotel of the former Save petrol station was meant to open ahead of the Christmas Market in 2012.

But work was halted late last year after the construction firm contracted to build the hotel went into administration.

Since, there have been subsequent delays to the work at the hotel.

Now Whitbread said it has appointed another contractor to finish the work and the Lincoln Premier Inn is expected to open in June.

The hotel created 30 jobs in the city, but some employees have been offered work at other of the company’s hotels while work is finished in Lincoln.
