Submissions open for Lincoln Shorts film festival

Video delights: Submissions are now open for Lincoln Shorts, the city’s popular film festival, now in its fourth year.

Submissions are now open for Lincoln Shorts, the city’s popular film festival, now in its fourth year.

Lincoln Shorts will screen on October 18 at Lincoln Drill Hall a wide range of short films and videos, from the most basic amateur home-movies to those from professional production companies in Lincolnshire and from local film students.

Everyone is welcome to submit their footage: “anybody in Lincolnshire with anything worth watching” is encouraged to submit what they have.

Previous screenings at the annual film event left audiences excited and amazed by the wealth and breadth of film-making talent right on their doorstep.

There are only two criteria for submitting video to Lincoln Shorts – it must have a local connection, and it must be less than five minutes long.

At the event in October there will also be live music from local band The Warbirds.

Heading up the event, organiser Tim Johns said: “We were blown away by the support at previous Lincoln Shorts events.

“I don’t think people realise how much filmmaking is happening right on their doorstep – this is their chance to come and see it.

“We’ll screen some amazing short films in October, but people shouldn’t be put off submitting their own material because they don’t think it’s good enough, our team is keen to look at everything Lincolnshire has to offer.”

Tickets for the event on October 18 are on sale now and cost £5.
