Video: Police crack down on Lincoln drivers using their phones

Risky call: As part of a county-wide campaign to stop people from using their phones while driving, Lincolnshire Police have documented the extent of offences in Lincoln.

As part of a county-wide campaign to stop people from using their phones while driving, Lincolnshire Police have documented the extent of offences in Lincoln in a snappy video.

Using a phone at the wheel has been an offence since 2003, however officers on the beat spot guilty drivers every day.

In a Hang Up Campaign video posted on Youtube on April 27, officers catch a number of drivers in the act in a few hours on Lincoln roads.

Lincolnshire Police said: “We know how frustrating it can be when you see people who have disregard for the law.

“This video shows how many people we caught in just a few hours. Being caught can mean 3 points on your licence and typically a £100 fine. That makes it an expensive phone call.”
