Police search for two men after Lincoln taxi driver robbery

Appeal for witnesses: A taxi driver was robbed in the car park of a Lincoln pub in the early hours of this morning.

A taxi driver was robbed in the car park of a Lincoln pub in the early hours of this morning.

The robbery happened at around 1.30am on Friday, July 24, when the male taxi driver stopped his blue Skoda Octavia in the car park of The Plough pub on Newark Road.

A man dressed in dark clothing approached the car and smashed the front window before demanding cash, which was handed over by the driver.

The suspect then fled the area and was believed to have left with another man who was on a bike.

The driver was not seriously injured but sustained cuts from the smashed glass.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who saw two men in the area at the time dressed in dark clothing or who may have been acting suspiciously.
