Lindum Hill set for weekend lane closure for water mains repairs

Lindum Hill closure: One lane on Lindum Hill in Lincoln will be closed for the duration of the weekend as engineers work to fix a leaking water main.

One lane on Lindum Hill in Lincoln will be closed for the duration of the weekend as engineers work to fix a leaking water main.

Repairs will be underway from Friday, taking place at the junction with Cathedral Street, opposite the Usher Gallery.

Anglian Water say the works, as agreed with Lincolnshire Highways, have been scheduled to keep disruption to a minimum on the busy road.

Work will start at 8pm on Friday, January 15 and will be completed by 6am on Monday, January 18, before the peak commuter rush hour.

One lane of the dualled section on the downhill side of Lindum Road will be closed for the duration of the works.

Emma Staples from Anglian Water said:

“We know this lane closure will cause some traffic disruption over the weekend and we are very sorry for this.

“We’ve worked closely with Lincolnshire Highways to reach a solution that kept the impact on the city to an absolute minimum but still allowed us to carry out the essential repairs to the water main.

“We’d like to apologise in advance to businesses, residents and road users, and thank them for their patience while we do all we can to complete this work swiftly.”

Advance warning signs are in place to notify road users. Businesses remain open as normal.
