A group of mischievous Shetland sheep, have been found after their disappearance sparked a police hunt north of Lincoln.

The rare sheep, many of which were in lamb were believed to be stolen from a field in Brattleby, north of Lincoln.

Lincolnshire Police updated an earlier appeal with the news the sheep had in fact escaped from the field and were found at around 5pm by residents in Aisthorpe on December 1.

As previously reported, police were searching for six sheep they believe were taken from the field close to Scampton.

The sheep are now in a more secure field.
