Popular Lincoln cafe The Angel Coffee House has temporarily closed for a £15,000 refurbishment.

Staff are currently working hard to give the coffee house on Free School Lane a full makeover including repainting inside, power washing the outdoor seating area and introducing new furniture.

The business expects to be closed for a week to carry out the maintenance ready to reopen on April 1 and hopes to be able to create new jobs in the summer.

Assistant manager at the coffee house, Daniel Ramsey, said: “We are having complete paint job, new seating in the top area and new bar as well.

“The place has needed a refurbishment for quite a while.

“It’s had the same decor since CJ, the current owner took over and we want to bring it back up to date.”
