The Co-op filling station on Carholme Road has re-opened after a £750,000 investment – alongside a new pharmacy, which is set to open inside.

The new Lincolnshire Co-op pharmacy will move into the Winning Post Food Store and Filling Station on Carholme Road from its current site on West Parade.

The pharmacy will open at 8am on Monday, March 13. The filling station opened on March 10.

Shoppers have been able to use the food store throughout the works.

The filling station part of the site has been closed to allow changes to the layout and a new canopy, pumps and equipment to be installed.

Moving the pharmacy onto the Winning Post site means patients will benefit from a larger dispensary, consultation room and seating. The new pharmacy also has parking and an accessible entrance.

The pharmacy will open for 10.5 more hours per week – with patients able to use the service from 8am to 6.30pm from Monday to Friday and from 9am until 12noon on Saturdays.

Lincolnshire Co-op’s Head of Pharmacy Alastair Farquhar said: “This new facility will mean our team will be able to provide a range of services – such as NHS Medicines Use Reviews, health checks and consultations – more easily as the space has been purpose-built for our needs. It will make the experience of using the pharmacy more comfortable for our patients too.”

Food Store Development Manager Matthew Wilkinson added customers’ patience during the works was appreciated.

He said: “We know the filling station is convenient for many drivers coming into the city so we’re pleased to be able to reopen that part of the site.”
